7000489B-FBA2-4BB3-9FF8-4DD51520E4E2.jpg

"Sony Ericsson Robyn looks like a younger brother (smaller version) the XPERIA X10 and it runs on the same custom UI developed by SE which powers the XPERIA X10" Via

- A smaller Sony Ericsson Xperia X10?

Could that be interesting?

Well maybe for some. Its an Android phone. That's good.

Somehow I think it looks fake. What do you think?

HTC Smart: A smart phone that's cheap as chips

"HTC has unveiled what it is claiming is a new type of smart phone, focusing on ease of use rather than advanced features. The HTC Smart will run on a platform from Qualcomm called Brew." Via

- The idea that HTC has with a simpler smartphone that will be easy to use instead of an advanced fully featured phone could be good.

- the Motorola Backflip looks really great. The Qwerty keyboard, the
look of an Alarm Clock (a bit like the Sony Ericsson Aino there).
Of course it runs Android and it looks even better than the Droid.

The Boxee Box Remote has a QWERTY keyboard!

Boxee Box Remote

"The Boxee Box Remote – It’s got a QWERTY keyboard!  When we started designing the Boxee Box remote we wanted something simple like the 6-button Apple Remote.  As we began adding features to the Beta it became obvious that for people to really get the most out of the box it was going to need to do more than just point and click" Boxee Blog » By the pricking of my thumbs, something awesome this way comes.

- Wow! This remote looks really cool.

I would like to have only the remote for my Boxee on my Mac. I wonder if we can buy that separately or if we need to buy the complete Boxee Box?

Lenovo Skylight Smartbook Hands-On

Hands-On With the Lenovo Skylight Smartbook

"Dubbed the Skylight, Lenovo’s smartbook is one of the freshest looking products showcased so far at CES. It’s a groovy notbook (a netbook that tries oh-so-hard to not be called a netbook, but in essence still is one) with an extremely thin form factor, rounded edges, a 10-inch screen and an ARM-based processor" via Wired.com

- But it still looks cool. Even if it looks like a Netbook.

I still prefer the Freescale Tablet Smartbook though.

Freescale Unveils An Android Smartbook

"Freescale Semiconductor has unveiled for CES 2010 the future of the
smartbook category with a tablet reference design featuring a 7-inch
touch screen with up to four times the viewing area of a typical
smartphone and based on a form factor that is approximately one-third
the size and volume of today's typical netbook"
http://www.i4u.com/article29582.html

- If the price of these SmartBooks will be like this one from
Freescale, around 200 dollar, I believe these can be a hit.
They will probably replace Netbooks then.

Google Nexus One hands-on, video, and first impressions

"The HTC-built and (soon to be) Google-sold device runs Android 2.1 atop a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 3.7-inch, 480 x 800 display, has 512MB of ROM, 512MB of RAM, and a 4GB microSD card (expandable to 32GB). The phone is a T-Mobile device (meaning no 3G if you want to take it to AT&T), and includes the standard modern additions of a light sensor, proximity sensor, and accelerometer" via Engadget

- Here is a pure quality hands-on post of the Google Nexus One from Engadet.

Google & HTC Working On a Tablet Together http://j.mp/7ZSnyp

Google and HTC Working On a Chrome OS Tablet

"HTC and Google have been collaborating 'for the past 18 months' and have produced 'several working models of a touch tablet,' including one outfitted with Google's Chrome OS. We wrote why a Google Tablet would be a good idea last month, and with the Apple Tablet discussion reaching a fever pitch, it's harder and harder to get excited about a Chrome OS netbook from Google" via Gizmodo

- Awesome!

If it only could look like the one in the picture... oh well..

Chrome OS would be cool on a tablet though.

Google Nexus: Not Enough to Beat Apple iPhone? http://j.mp/8sb0lI

Leaked Nexus One Documents: $530 Unlocked, $180 With T-Mobile

"This time around, the new Android phones were supposed to break the hegemony of the Apple iPhone. So far, it hasn't quite worked out that way with Android. A number of cell phone companies – notably Motorola, HTC, and Samsung – have adopted Android and seen impressive sales. However, this time around Apple, though still exhibiting much of its old 'closed' and proprietary ways, has learned some important lessons over the last 20 years" Google Nexus: Not Enough to Beat Apple iPhone? - ABC News

"This hybrid gadget dubbed BPhone may not make it as this years Gadget of the Year, but we have to take notice of the fine way the BPhone makers have combined phone and netbook." BPhone Netbook and Phone Hybrid takes on iPhone | PMP Today

- Cool idea but will probably be reality for the rest of the world.

Windows CE is not so great. It would be cool if it was running Android instead.

Deconstructing the iTablet Rumor Mill http://bit.ly/7fYmkL Comment:

"On Wednesday, I posted that I thought the Apple Tablet was failed from the start. I provided several reasons why, which included; lack of mass appeal, lower margins, it would bite into MacBook sales, and the biggest was the reality of the device would ruin expectations and therefore Apple’s rep" Deconstructing the iTablet Rumor Mill -- Seeking Alpha

- This is exactly what I've been saying all the time. Apple will not release a Tablet. Why would they compete with them self?

There is no need for one. They have the iPhone. The iPhone is a perfect Mobile Internet Device or Smartbook.
The next version will have a bigger screen (around 4-inch. Not bigger than 5-inch) and that will be what this rumor is all about.

"I think devices like the iPod touch represent the next wave in personal computing"

"I think devices like the iPod touch represent the next wave in personal computing, you can imagine there is fertile ground here" The Androidification of Everything - BusinessWeek

- So true, so true. MID's or Smartbooks are the way to go. An iphone with a screen around 4-5 inch is the perfect mobile companion. Always with you in the pocket. Always online. Thats how the mobile future will look like.

I can imagine cheap units running Android or Chrome OS that looks like a bigger iPhone.

What is the Ultimate Role of the Apple Tablet? - no one

"Exactly what purpose or role an Apple tablet will fulfill is a legitimate question that has been raised on a number of occasions. Since other company's tablets have so far been commercially unsuccessful, what could Apple bring to the table that will suddenly make them a success? Steve Jobs himself has previously questioned what they were good for besides surfing the web in the bathroom" What is the Ultimate Role of the Apple Tablet? - Mac Rumors

- Surfing the web in the bathroom or everywhere else, I have the iPhone for, so why the need for a Tablet?

There is no need for a tablet, and I still don't believe Apple will release one. They are not so stupid. They will announce a bigger iPhone maybe, but no Tablet. Next iPhone will have a screen around 4-inch. Not bigger than 5-inch.
